Double page spread article

From school girl to teen sensation: proof that dreams can come true.

Last year, Vicky Rowlands was your average 16 year old student, attending school, enjoyed going shopping and chilling with her friends. But this year her world was turned upside down after being recognised as a YouTube sensation and snapped up by Sony Records. This exclusive interview gets an inside look at  the teens life and her success so far.

So Vicky, what first inspired to create your very first YouTube video?
I was 13, and have always loved to sing, they year before i started to learn guitar, I was really just interested to see what sort of reaction i'd get from people and thought i'd give it a go, it was more for a confident boost, I never really thought it would get me anywhere.

Well it certainly paid off! I bet your happy you did that now looking back, which current musicians do you admire?
Definately Miley Cyrus, I love her music and how we are of a similar age, she seems so down to earth and I would love to be as big as her one day. I also enjoy music from Pixie Lott, Katy Perry and Rhianna, I'm certainly one for girl power.

How are you handling all the male attention?
It's really weird actually, going from a nobody just a few months ago, to everybody reconising me as a I walk down the street, it's still very surreal and weird for me to get my head around, but fun i guess, I can't complain, I am very honurned to be in such a postision many girls would die for.

So, are you single?
(Shyly giggles) Humm, maybe, maybe not...

Oooh keeping your options open i see.
What has been the best memory of this year so far?
Getting my very first number one, with my first single 'This World' in June, I was so shocked and overwhelmed with the support from my fans, I remember just screaming and tears of joy running down my face, it was just like a dream.

Sounds amazing! Especially for a girl of your age! So what does the future hold for such a successful young star?
I'm not really sure yet, I tend to take each day as it comes, my first album comes out next month I would love to have my first tour, hopefully early next year I can't wait just thinking of all the wonderful times left to come, I have achieved so much so early on, I can only dream to continue my success.

  1. I think that this is a great start at making your double page spread article. The questions that you have asked are approriate and the answers given are detailed and make the person talking sound realistic. Some of the answers given are really relatable to the target audience of your magazine such as, teenagers being 'nobodies' and wanting to make something of themselves and this is exacty what the person in the article has done. Meaning, that your audience could aspire to be the person in the article, drawing them in and making them want to read it, ultimatly selling more of your magazines. Possibly, to improve further, you could add more in to the main article at the top, maybe giving some more detailed information about her life. Overall, this is a very good double page spread article, well done. :)
